The Blue Whale is the worlds largest animal (by both weight and length), the fin whale the second longest. Which then is the second heaviest?
This is the Bowhead Whale, Balaena mysticetus, and it can weigh up to 100 tonnes, but it’ll only grow to around 20 meters long. It is also the longest living mammal: a harpoon was found embedded in one that was 130 years old, and its estimated they can live up to 200 years. It also has the biggest mouth of any animal.
